Ivy League Students- Out of Control !!!

Have you heard of this? Harvard and Cornell universities have joined Yale University and Dartmouth College in cracking down on out-of-control behavior as drinking, hazing and sexual harassment endanger students and tarnish Ivy League reputations.

Dartmouth, based in Hanover, New Hampshire, was rocked by a hazing scandal in January when then-senior Andrew Lohse wrote about eating omelettes made from vomit and other degrading rituals at Sigma Alpha Epsilon. Can you imagine that?????

Harvard faculty voted last yr  to require registration of parties and ban drinking games, and Cornell ordered fraternities to have live-in advisers. This fall, Dartmouth began security checks at Greek houses and Princeton University banned freshmen from joining them.

The moves are the latest effort to regulate campus behavior since rules controlling students -- known as in loco parentis -- were abolished in the 1960s. Disobedience crested last year for Ivy League schools, which cost more than $50,000 a year to attend. A Dartmouth hazing article detailed rituals involving bodily fluids. A Cornell student died of alcohol poisoning, and Yale was hit with a discrimination complaint after fraternity members chanted “No means yes! Yes means anal!”

Colleges have been in an arms race to prove to students that they’re cool and give more freedom than the others. Now, maybe the pendulum is starting to swing the other way.  College students have come to equate the absence of boundaries with fun. That, combined with large amounts of alcohol easily available on campus, can skew students’ sense of what is acceptable or even normal.
Oh Boy... we see it all in movies, wonder how it's like if one is really there? Singapore's uni life is so tame compared to them. However who wants to eat vomit omelettes anyway?

My take on beauty & make-up

Beauty Secrets Every Teen or Young Person  Should Know-

I’ve read tons of fashion magazines &  1000s of beauty tips, tried 1000s of products, but only a few are worth keeping around. So, here I  share with you  what I thought  is worth  keeping

1. Skip the foundation If you have acne the first thing you want to do is slather on the thick foundation. Don't. Foundation is for OLDER  women. Not only will it cover up your natural beauty, but foundation on a teenager looks anything but natural. Instead, cover up blemishes with concealer, then follow with a powder or tinted moisturiser. Tinted moisturisers tend to be lighter than heavy foundations. Or just use 2 way cake- that's enough!

2. You pat concealer in, you never rub it in.  When applying concealer, put a bit on the pad of your middle finger and pat it in. Never rub. Got acne? Pat the concealer on top of it.
3. Play up your lips or your eyes, never both If you are wearing heavy eye makeup, go for nude lips with just a bit of gloss. Prefer the drama of dark lipstick? Keep face light (stay away from heavy blush) and wear only mascara on your eyes and a light eyeshadow. Don't heavily line your eyes. Play up both and you'll look like a clown.
And never, ever line lips in a darker colour than your gloss or lipstick.

4. Less is more Ever notice how some of your friends look best with no makeup at all? No matter your age, too much makeup makes you look worse. If you wear foundation, powder, blush, liner, mascara, eyeshadow, lip liner and gloss on an everyday basis, then you're overdoing it. Tone it down: All you really need is a great mascara, concealer for blemishes and gloss. Add a pop of blush when you are in the mood….lol….

5. Natural hair is always hot If you have super dark hair, lighten your look by going a shade lighter or getting lighter highlights. We see too many teens lightening their hair several shades and the look can be super-tacky, not super-fabulous. The trick is to let people assume you were born with  natural beautiful  hair, not that you gave yourself a bad dye job from a bottle.

6. Acne? Go to a doctor!!!!  Biggest mistake people with acne make? Not going to a skin doc.  Getting rid of those pimples will be the best investment you'll ever make. And the only guaranteed way to do it is with a doc.
7. When can you skip sunscreen ? Never. The first beauty product you should apply every day is sunscreen, even if it's cloudy or rainy outside. Why? Good habits start young and if you use sunscreen now, you'll have gorgeous skin when you're 50, 60, 70. Remember, the sun's UV rays can penetrate clouds and car windows.

8. Don't line the inside of your eyes It will make your eyes appear smaller. Instead, line just at the lash line. Also, an obvious line doesn't look natural. Smudge the line just a bit.
9. Know your best feature and play it up.  What feature do people comment on most? Play it up. If you're told you have Angelina Jolie lips, make sure to wear gloss and play with bold lipstick colors. If it's your eye color people love, find eyeshadow colors that complement them and make sure to wear mascara. Also, know what color shirts look best on you and go shopping.

10. Remember: Beauty is mostly internal Think about a girl you know who's overweight yet all the guys love her. Why? Because she's confident. If you aren't wearing makeup and your toes haven't been repainted in weeks, if you're happy and smiling you will still be 10 times prettier than the mopey cheerleader sitting next to you in class. Trust us (wink).

What do you think of Pink Slugs????

Have you seen them?  Hundreds of giant, fluorescent pink slugs, popping out on  Mount Kaputar, a 5,000-foot peak in the Nandewar Range in northern New South Wales.

They are  eight-inch, how many cm is that? 25 cm? My God That’s large!

Scientists believe the eye-catching organisms are survivors from an era when Australia was home to rainforests. A series of volcanoes, millions of years of erosion and other geological changes "have carved a dramatic landscape at Mount Kaputar," the park service wrote on its Facebook page, and unique arid conditions spared the slugs from extinction.
They "probably would have long since vanished, if a volcano had not erupted at Mount Kaputar about 17 million years ago. The result of that eruption is a high-altitude haven for invertebrates and plant species that have been isolated for millions of years, after Australia dried out and the rainforests receded.
I cant wait to see them !  So people, our nextr holiday destination : Australia, New South Wales???

What do you think of Ah Boys To Men, Joshua?

OkOk.... people,  yesterday we (girls)  kind of spend about 1 hr 'discussing " him, beats doing other things at the moment, with wheather so hot, I think talking about  the HOTTEST topic seems fit!...hahha....

When fans asked ,  what he prefers Boxers or briefs?Joshua 'apparently' said :  boxers as briefs are suffocating (ahemmm.... cough..cough... choke choke....!!!!!). He further let on that at times he " go commando" because it's shiok & he can't be bothered. The habit started when he was in army. ...boy what these cute guys learn in the army!!!!

He likes chesty curvy girls , whom he thought is sexy.....vavavoom....... (Mandy is breathing hard now hhahaha......). No skinny girls for him, they reminded him of guys...hahhaa.....

A good time is having an intelligent conversation with someone. He  hates simplistic conversation that goes nowhere & appreciate being mentally stimulated.

Oh boy......  I seriously hope he looks as good in person as he does on print!!! You know some people are photogenic but .... I'm that kind, so I know. Anyway, looks like we have finally find ourselves a real celebrity......... cute & smart!!!!

Crowd Funding

An undergard from NTU did just that to help pay off her dad's hospital bills. In fact she raised about $25,000- last reported from more than 200 people. This happened last year.

Why I mention it here, it's because my friends have decided to start a bussiness & the brains thought of doing just that just to come up with working capital.

If you dont know what this is, crowd funding is where indiduals are asked to contribute money, usually online now, to support an activity which can include help pay for someone's debts (like mentioned above), support some campaign or support us -starting a business!!!!

Snakes are materialistic and love keeping up with the Joneses. They love to posses the best of everything, but they have no patience for shopping.
